Lawrence Ragoo! (part 4)

after hanging out on mt Jackson, we headed for Mt. Pierce. just another Mountain closer to washington. Pierce had a giant cairn on it. cairns are triangle piles of rocks that are made to show you which way the trail goes when there is snow on the ground.

next was the walk from Mt. Pierce to Mt. Eisenhower. by this time we all felt great. we got in a nice rhythm and it seemed like we were getting a new peak every couple of hours.

Eisenhower

Eisenhower to Franklin. Mt. washington was getting closer

Mt. Franklin. the clouds were starting to roll in a little bit but the temperature was still great and the clouds only stuck around for a few hours and the sun came back out. alot of hikers were stoked on the bruins jersey. it was a nice celebration for them winning the stanley cup.

after Mt Franklin we had a short hike to Mt Monroe.

Mt. monroe was great because on the other side of it was a hut called "lakes of the clouds hut" there is 2 tiny bodies of water and a nice little cabin.

Monroe peak. craig was still trying to hitch hike

lakes in the clouds. and the base of mt washington

when we got to the hut we kicked back for a few. checked out the map and enjoyed the shelter.

because the hike was so long and we knew we wouldnt get it done in one day, we couldnt hang out in places for too long because we needed to get below the tree line to camp. we headed out and started on our way to the top of mt washington which was just short of halfway. a quick stop to skip rocks on the lakes .
