I can't think of a better way to meet total strangers. I like meeting all types of people. Actually, I think i prefer to meet people that I have nothing in common with over people that are into the same things as I am. There is something to be learned from everyone.

I had a friend drop me off at the half way point. I wanted to thumb the rest of the way. As I was walking through a parking lot, a woman pulled up in a nice SUV. "Hey do you need a few dollars?" " No, I don't need money, but thank you". I wonder what people would think if they knew that I asked my friend to drop me off, so I could stand on the side of the road with a 35 pound back pack and try to get a ride with a total stranger for the rest of the way. I met some really interesting people that day.
