Farmville

My friend Dylan has been spending his winters on a farm in western North Carolina up in the mountains. About 30 miles northwest of Asheville. He had sent me a letter in the mail a few months ago with the name of the town and a phone number to reach the farm. He had already headed back North to his summer spot in Northern Maine, but told us that if we were passing through we should call his friends and check out the farm. So thats what we did.

Asheville

Got to Asheville early in the day. pedaled to a place to get breakfast. A guy walked up, holding a burning incent and a samurai sword. He had on those shoes with the individual toes.


Met up with a couple of the local bmx dudes and they showed us some of the spots. We ended up at some jumps in swannanoa? they were run down but we got them running in no time and took a few runs.

The direction of home

We left New Orleans in the morning and started our journey towards Asheville, NC. I had never been there before, but have always heard great things about it. Slept behind a couple of hotels on the road. One night we woke up to a security guard pounding on the window. When Jake wen't out to talk to her, she kept saying " you guys dont even have enough money for a hotel room". People have their heads so far in the wrong place sometimes, I think they will never get it back..

And Down

Got to New Orleans just before dark. Got lost for a bit and found our way to the garden district side of town. We found a place to get some cheese burgers and hung out with a cool dog on a picnic table for a while.

EastBound

My friends Benk and Jake jumped in the bus with me for a little road trip East and then North. We left late at night and drove towards New Orleans. Jake's friend Lauren had told him about a skatepark project that she worked on in the deep south  in a town called Bayou Vista. The place was called the swamp and was painted to look like a swamp and had turtle shells for rollers and an Aligator head in the middle of the park.

Austin Farewell

got back from california and hung out in austin for a few more days. spent a lot of time dialing the bus in for the open road, cleaning up the yard that I had been parked in for the last few months, and a few last wacks on those dirt curls.

Street Bagels

Rode the Hood Games skatepark in Oakland. Pretty awesome spot filled with random ramps from all over the place. there was a weird wave thing that had a rasta paint job.

The San Francisco Treat.

Spent a couple of day's hanging around San Francisco. Got to cruise in the Jihad Jammer all over the town.

Slept on a circular bed, drank coffee in the morning, met up with friends to get a final rip around the Santa Cruz concrete park. Got there and it was a bee hive. a million people in there so we ended up on the beach

hung out for a few hours playing music.


the perfect way to say good bye to  a home from home.

Hitched a ride with the ries to San Francisco. We took the scenic route up route 1, saw a t rex eating a dog

And got to drive through the new tunnel that comes into pacifica, unfortunately, cutting miles of sketchy dangerous scenic roads.

These are gonna be, my last day's here. im wasted away at times too dear....

My last couple of day's in Santa Cruz were filled with the typical SC relaxing. Got a fun, chill last session out at Freedom grounds.

Pretty happy about this picture on someone's wall. I got a message from a dude named Dustin out in Denver, asking about one of the pictures on the site from the first full pipe mission. He wanted to hang it up on the wall in his house, so i sent him the file under the agreement that he would send me a pic of it once he hung it up.  Thanks Dustin. I'm stoked. Catch you in Colorado someday.

This Guy

We rolled up to watch the sunset and he was already there doing the same. This Guy had a face that told a life's story. I talked to him for a few minutes while he stood there finishing up the last bit of a joint.  What a dude.

I feel like its important to contribute, in some way or another, to whatever "scene" or community you are participating in. No guidelines, just helping each other out in some way or another. It's nice to be able to fly to the other side of the country and be accepted with open arms. Murph and I went to the Rio Del Ditch and did some dialing on a classic Santa Cruz spot.
