The American Classic

TITO

living in a school bus

If i spent my teens, twenties, thirties, forties, fifties, and sixties working my ass off, and then decided to drive around the country in a motor home, people would be stoked. "hey check out that cute retired couple cruising around the country in their mobile home".

I decided to take my retirement a little early. do my traveling wile i was still young enough to jog.

and life is good.

Soaking up the sun

Soaking in the sun.

I spent 5 days last week, swimming with my friends in perfect summer time New England weather.  And then i spent my time off from swimming with friends, doing other enjoyable things with them.
I was going to get 2 full time jobs this summer, but then i remembered that money wasn't actually worth anything.

Riding a Bicycle

My favorite people on bicycles are the ones head to toe in spandex. Usually got their eyes glued to the pavement in front of their tire, trying to push their body to its limit, trying to take "riding a bicycle" seriously.

I'm in Love with Living

I usually use the word "Summer" out of context. Not as the season between Spring and Fall, but as the time i spend home in New England with my friends. When I am home, its summer vacation. When I am gone.....Winter vacation.  This summer has been one of the best. I'm sure I said the same thing about last summer, and will probably say the same thing about next summer.

pond floats

With the wind blowing perfectly from one side of the pond to the other, all we had to do is drop in on one end, and get blown ashore on the other side an hour later. We didn't get a single nibble on the poles, but we weren't there to fish. We were there to enjoy the company of each other.

Raging success.

Pouring Rain

I saw a sign on a church that said "practice summer safety, stay indoors". Months later and I found myself  sitting in my friends car listening to the weather on the radio "severe weather warnings, torrential rain, strong winds, get inside..." thinking about that sign and how it should have said " avoid reality, stay in church".

So we unloaded our bikes in the pouring rain and decided to go for a bike ride to get some ice cream.

Rope Swings

My favorite summer time activity. Swinging off a rope into a warm pond.

Time.

You grow up with a perception that Time is actually a real thing. Using it to keep yourself on a schedule, keep track of how old you are, or how old they are... worrying about it going by too fast, or complaining about it dragging on too long.  What time is it??     Time to Live.

Karaoke

The fear of embarrassment. Trying to avoid something that should be sought-after. No one ever thinks the reason they are so uncomfortable standing up in front of a crowd, is because of their own insecurities. And the best medicine would be making a fool of yourself . We are ALL Idiots, stop fighting it.

Maybe hit up your local Chinese food restaurant and sing love shack with "The Twisted Sisters".

Build a fort

I showed up at a friends house to see a giant pile of Pallets and cardboard boxes waiting to be burned in a bon fire blaze of glory. It only seemed fitting to turn them into a giant fort instead.

and since the fort was there all night, It made even more sense to sleep in there.

Thank you Chris Pickett for staying up all night with me in the fort. People just don't get weird like they used to.

Active Life

Living the dream. Work all day and go home to watch other people play sports on my big screen TV,  from the comfort of my corner couch with built in recliners. No wonder professional athletes get paid such a ridiculous amount of money. It's their responsibility to keep most Americans on their couches and off their feet, And I am thankful for that because now when I go for late night bike rides to a beautiful swimming spot with a few of my friends, I don't have to worry about a lot of people blowing the place out.

Stay on your couch.  Please.

You don't have to have your roots buried in the dirt to be a happy healthy tree.

BMX?

The reason skateboarding will always be better than BMX, is because the skateboarding industry isn't run by 14 year old children. I wish more BMX companies had some back bones.

Sell your soul for a buck, or Dont give a fuck.

The bus feast

Living in a school bus full time has its ups and downs. Muggy summer nights, Mosquito's, The sun blazing down on the roof at 7AM to turn it into an oven, small spaces, always too much stuff, and cooking, are just a handful of the "Down's". But at least when you cook a good meal, It tastes even sweeter.

rafts and laughs round 3

For the first 2 years of rafts and laughs, we had perfect weather. round 1 and round 2.
this year wasn't so fortunate, but it never changed the mood.We floated for a few hours before the sky opened up to a pouring rain storm, and everyone just kept floating. It was nice to see the rain not put a "damper" on the situation.

After the rain made everyone cold and the buses started feeling damp, we headed for the indoors, and we brought piss eyes with us.

The almighty Rev.
