Been a crazy first couple of days out here on the Western side of the East coast. We got to witness Jackson jump out of the skatepark and over the moon.


Then we made a dinner with friends.



and then we were able to relax and think about the view we get from life

I jumped on a Plane and Flew to San Francisco. A nice end cap to my time in Austin before I head back North for the Spring. Clear View of the Valley's when I woke up, Bird Flight.

Laying Pipe

Some people spend their entire lives searching for something better than what they have. They find it, and the need to search for it again when that gets stale. Over and over again. An increasing disinterest in the present.
I guess it depends what you're searching for.

I'm fortunate to have low standards for staying happy. fresh air and the rest is a bonus.

That makes the search easier.. No "Pipe dreams".
Everyone loves laying pipe... Well, not everyone.
But if you find a pipe worth putting in the work for, take as many stabs at that thing before you skip town as you can.

The Bitch Ditch

Murphy Carson was up in the BD last week. That place is fun to ride and right up the street. Murph himself cranked a sweet turndown with bars that are way too big.   Proper execution...

Mountain Bikes

Bike's are sweet. Any bike. Some weenie with Titanium clips on his shoe's and his Eco-friendly lycra is  pedaling around finding enjoyment from his 4 pound bike. The dude with the cyclist cap with the visor flipped up commuting to work on a uni-cycle, The Tandem,BMX,Fixed Gear, Beach Cruiser... All different, all equally bad ass.


Jake got a new job in the rentals department at a big bike shop in town. He rented a couple of Mountain bikes and we went cruising on the green belt with Hudson. Mountain bikes are like a dirt bike but you are the motor. I can get down with that.


I always enjoy doing some mountain biking. It's no Santa Cruz mountain biking, but it was still a damn good time.

The other times I have been in Austin during the festivities I avoided downtown because of the overwhelming amount of bull shit going on, the obnoxious amount of people everywhere, Traffic forever..; This time I decided to do the opposite.

FBM Bikes

So honored to be a part of a bike company like FBM. The things that they believe in, and have been working hard at since day one, are honest. All the dudes that are on the team are great bike riders, but their skill level on a bike isn't important. It's their attitude towards living that makes the mark. If you are riding bikes for reasons other than having a good time with your friends, FBM probably doesn't make sense to you. This picture of Garret says it all......FBM

Austin Kite Festival

Austin is home to the oldest running kite festival in the Nation. Which could mean anything. I remember a few months ago, hearing Heather talk about how awesome the Austin Kite festival was. And one day I asked her what she had planned for the day and she said she was going to the kite fest. I had to go check it out. They were anticipating over 40,000 people there this year for the 85th annual event.  Thats a shit load of people flying kites.


What a good time, I saw so many people get smashed by dive bombing kites.

The Pipe...

I have heard about the infamous Full Pipe under the city of Austin for a few years now.  It's about damn time that we caught some carves on that baby.

Adam and I got some lights from a job site we were working on, and talked about using them to light up the pipe. I love the feeling you get when you are climbing down into a full pipe with flashlights, not knowing what you are going to find. And then when the thing you were looking for turns out to be ever better than expected... even better.

    Why is riding a swimming pool so enjoyable? Not the swimming pool that they built at the skatepark, but an actual swimming pool. They are usually awkward and tight, chipped up and slippery, sometimes nearly impossible to ride, but the 6 hours of hard work for 8 people, seems like a no brainer.

    If you have ever spent the time to bucket out hundreds and hundreds of gallons of water from an old swimming pool because it has 2 measly feet of transition in half of it, you probably understand the feeling you get from the whole situation as a whole, not just the riding aspect.

Pool Party

Mark got a lead on a pool down South in a kids grandmothers backyard or something. I had been hearing about it and happened to come around on the day it was going to get scoped out. Jumped into the back of a truck and hit the highway.


We got there and the pool was filled with water. I guess it could have went either way. a few guys talked about aborting mission, and some just said fuck it  and got to cleaning..


once the pumping started there was no turning back, we were all in it for the long haul. Just pulling water out one bucket at a time.




We spent the entire day just bucketing water out of the pool. and right when the sun went down we finally got it fully drained. It was slimy and wet  but some of us just couldn't resist a couple of carves..It was pretty tricky to ride.

Their last day in town we spent out at Hush. There was at least 50 people there having a good ass time.
